Head men’s basketball coach Chris Kraus announced the final addition to the coaching staff for the 2024-25 season, hiring Aaron Loredo as an assistant coach after spending last season as the head coach of Eastern Nazarene College men’s basketball.
Loredo rounds out Kraus’s staff as one of four assistant coaches, the third new hire among a staff of returner Jason Karys and newcomers Jared Czech and Bill Herrion.
“We are very excited to add Aaron to the coaching staff,” said Coach Kraus. “He comes in very highly recommended from the coaches he’s worked with and had a great opportunity last season as head coach at Eastern Nazarene which will certainly add a lot of value to our program. Loredo is a great, up-and-coming coach and we are lucky to have him join the staff!”
Before leading the Lions as head coach last season, Loredo spent two years as an assistant coach at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts. He helped the Gulls post a 30-21 record with a pair of Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament appearances in two seasons. Loredo was responsible for recruiting, film breakdown, scouting reports, and player development, as well as managing the program’s social media efforts.
Before his stint at Endicott, Loredo was an assistant coach at Nichols College from 2019-2021. He oversaw recruiting, video coordination, player development, practice planning, and social media. During his time at Nichols, the Bison compiled a 26-14 record, claiming the 2020 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Regular Season and Tournament championships en route to a trip to the NCAA Tournament second round.
Loredo also spent one year as an assistant coach at Salem State University where he helped the Vikings capture the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Regular Season and Tournament championships along with a berth to the NCAA Tournament.
Loredo graduated from Salem State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport & Movement Science with a concentration in Sport Management while also minoring in Spanish. He went on to earn his master’s degree from Nichols College in Organizational Leadership.
