The University of Louisville has scheduled a 3pm press conference for today where they will introduce Pat Kelsey as their new head men’s basketball coach.
Kelsey has spent the past three seasons as the head coach at the College of Charleston, where he went 75-27 (.735). This past season, he led the Cougars to a 27-8 (15-3) record and captured their second straight CAA tournament championship. Kelsey, a Cincinnati native who went to Xavier also spent nine seasons as the head coach at Winthrop (2012-21), where he tallied a 186-95 (.662) mark.
Kelsey will replace Kenny Payne who went 12-52 overall, and 5-35 in ACC play during two seasons at the helm of his alma mater.
