Lindsey joins the Wolf Pack after spending the 2016-17 season as a graduate assistant coach at NCAA DII St. Edward’s University in his hometown of Austin, Texas. While with the Hilltoppers, Lindsey acted as the recruiting coordinator for the state of Texas while also assisting head coach Andre Cook with scouting reports and team practices. During his time at St. Edward’s, Trey helped the Hilltoppers finish with a 17-15 overall record and the second highest scoring offense in the conference at 84.3 points per game.
“Trey is a great teacher of the game and does an excellent job evaluating and recruiting talent,” said Hollowell. “We are very excited about the energy and enthusiasm that he will bring to our program.”
Prior to taking his position on the coaching staff, Lindsey was two-year starter for the Hilltoppers, both of which he was named team captain. In two seasons, he started in all 60 games and averaged 8.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per outing.
The 6-6 forward returned to his home city of Austin in 2013 after having spent his first two years playing NCAA DI basketball at the University of Louisiana-Monroe. Trey appeared in 45 games for the Warhawks and made 14 starts during that span, highlighted by an 18-point performance against Arkansas-Little Rock during his sophomore season.
Before heading to Monroe, Lindsey was a three-year letterman at Bowie High School in Austin where he helped the Bulldogs capture two district championships and one regional crown during his tenure.
Trey graduated from St. Edward’s in 2017 with a M.S. in Leadership and Change after earning his B.A. in Kinesiology at St. Edward’s in 2015.
