Luke Fennelly Promoted to Assistant Basketball Coach at Montana State

Luke Fennelly, a member of the Montana State men’s basketball staff for the past four seasons, was named assistant coach by Brian Fish.

“Luke has done an outstanding job for us in the Director of Operations position and has earned the right to be given the shot to move into the full-time assistant position. His connection with the players, work ethic, and Montana roots all played huge factors in my decision.”

Fennelly joined the Bobcats as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2013, and became the operations director prior to the 2015-16 season. A two-time all-conference basketball player at Whitefish High, Fennelly earned his BS in Sports Business with a minor in Economics from Oregon in 2012. While in Eugene, he worked as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Lane Community College from 2010-13. He completed his Master’s in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in Coaching and Sport Science from MSU in 2016.

Known for his organizational skills, Fennelly has drawn praise from Fish for his work in areas such as coordinating summer camps, scheduling and team travel.
