Berry College Director of Athletics, Angel Mason, announced the appointment of Trevor Lydic as Interim Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Coach Lydic has served as an assistant coach on the Vikings staff over the last three seasons. His appointment comes following the departure of Mitch Cole to Division I, Samford University.
“I am excited to continue to work with this special group of student athletes and build on the success that we have had these past three years” stated Lydic.
Coach Lydic return a program whose 2021-2022 season will have no shortage of action, as many familiar faces will be returning and looking to become back-to-back SAA Champions. SAA Newcomer of the Year, Michael Johnson, First Team All-SAA Center, Austin Brooks, SAA All-Tournament Team Member, Chase Ellis, among many more veteran players will all be returning next year for the Vikings.
“We are looking forward to the next chapter for our men’s basketball program” stated Mason. “We appreciate Coach Lydic for continuing to step up and serve our young men. The program has a great future with strong player leadership to build on the foundation that has been laid”.
