The LIU men’s basketball program has been among the elite teams in the Northeast Conference ever since assistant coach Jim Mack‘s arrival in Brooklyn.
And on Tuesday, Mack was rewarded. Head coach Derek Kellogg announced that his deputy has been promoted to associate head coach.
“Over the last five years, Coach Mack has worked tirelessly to support our vision and keep LIU as one of the premier programs in the league,” Kellogg said. “His knowledge helps advance the daily operations of our program, including recruiting, player development, scouting and game management.”
Mack has helped the Sharks qualify for the Northeast Conference Tournament each season since joining LIU.
“I’m grateful to Coach Kellogg and our administration for this promotion,” Mack said. “Coach Kellogg has been such a great mentor over these past five years. I am excited to keep working for him, our players and the program. I’m eager to continue the development of our players, both on and off the court.”
