I can confirm that Maine head coach Bob Walsh will hire Bob Simon as an assistant basketball coach. Simon had spent the past two seasons as the associate head coach at Alabama before departing Avery Johnson’s staff in May. Before being hired at Alabama, Simon worked for Ed Cooley at both Providence and Fairfield, and spent time as the associate head coach at Toledo. An official announcement is expected shortly.
