Malone University Basketball Staff Update

Malone University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Charlie Wallrapp has announced his staff for the 2023-2024 season. TJ Schlenvogt, Jordan Lindesmith, and Henry Wallrapp will serve as assistant coaches while John Quam will be a graduate assistant. 

“I am extremely excited about the staff that we were able to put together in a short period of time,” Coach Wallrapp said. “They are eager to be a part of our program and are ready to hit the ground running. All four bring a diverse set of skills that will help push our players to be better every day. I am thrilled that they will be coaching with me this year.” 

TJ Schlenvogt enters his first season with the Pioneers after spending the last two seasons with Hanover College.

At Hanover, Schlenvogt assisted in day-to-day operations, scouting reports, recruiting, summer camps, and working with the post players. 

In his first season with the Panthers, the team finished with a 21-5 record and won the HCAC regular season championship. The team had three players place on All-Conference teams and one make Honorable Mention. In his second season, the team had a top four finish in the conference with an overall record of 17-10, while having two players make 1st Team All-Conference.

Prior to Hanover, Schlenvogt was an Assistant Coach at Bay Community College in Escanaba Michigan for the 2020-21 season. While he was there, he assisted in strength and conditioning,
day-to-day operations, and recruiting.

Schlenvogt graduated from Northwood University in Midland, Mich. in 2020 with a degree in Entertainment, Sports, and Promotion Management. While at Northwood, he served as a student assistant to the men’s basketball team assisting in all aspects of basketball operations. Schlenvogt is from Escanaba, MI.

Entering his first season with the Malone men’s basketball program, John Quam is serving as a Graduate Assistant.

A former student manager at the University of Wisconsin, John Quam was a part of a regular season Big 10 championship team in 2021-22 and a NIT semi-finalist team in 2022-23.

During his time as a manager for the University of Wisconsin, he helped with program operations, recruiting, video, and game operations amongst other responsibilities.

In May of 2023, John Quam earned Bachelor’s of Science degrees in both Statistics and Data Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is currently working towards a Masters of Business Administration with a specialization in Business and Data Analytics.

2023-2024 will mark Jordan Lindesmith’s sixth year as an assistant on the Malone men’s basketball coaching staff.

A former player under Coach Walker in the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons, Jordan played in all 29 of the Pioneers’ games, averaging 13 minutes per contest. He recorded 105 points while shooting 75% from the free throw line.

Jordan is from Massillon, Ohio and played high school basketball at Jackson High School (2008 graduate). Before coming to Malone, he played one season at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University (2008-09). A 2012 Malone graduate, he coached at Jackson for the 2011-12 and 2013-14 seasons.

Jordan is married to Lauren Lindesmith who is an assistant coach for the Walsh University women’s soccer program.

Henry Wallrapp joined the men’s coaching staff in August of 2023 after working in the private sector to begin his career. This will be his first coaching experience. 

Henry played as a defensive end on the football team at Colby College. After starting games all 4 years, he served as a team captain for Colby’s 2017 season.

Before that, he enjoyed a successful high school basketball career as the team MVP his senior season after averaging 13.9 points and 13.9 rebounds. He was also voted Tournament MVP at the 2017 Far East Championships, which his team won.

Henry completed his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colby College and currently also works for Templafy, a software company.
