Manhattan College has announced that Steve Masiello has been reinstated as its head men’s basketball coach, having completed his undergraduate requirements from the University of Kentucky.
Masiello will receive his undergraduate degree from Kentucky in August. He had been a student at Kentucky from 1996-2000, where he was a four-year member of the men’s basketball team.
"We are happy to have Coach Masiello back on campus. We are pleased he was able to complete his academic requirements in order to enable his return. His presence will greatly benefit our men’s basketball student-athletes and the entire program." Manhattan College Director of Athletics Noah D. LeFevre stated.
"I am extremely grateful to Manhattan for the opportunity to return as its men’s basketball coach,” Masiello said. “I also am happy to have completed the requirements for my degree."
Masiello has been Manhattan College’s head men’s basketball coach since April 2011. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at the University of Louisville from 2005-11. Masiello was an assistant coach at Manhattan College from 2001-05 and began his coaching career at Tulane University in 2000.
