Marist adds DBO

Marist head men’s basketball coach Jeff Bower has announced the hiring of Denny Glunt as the director of basketball operations.

The hiring of Glunt completes Marist’s staff. On May 20, Bower announced the hiring of Paul Lee, Eugene Burroughs and Brian Adams as assistant coaches.

“Denny will bring a wide variety of skills and experiences to our program,” Bower said. “He will be highly involved in all aspects of our student-athletes’ responsibilities. His track record of organization and execution will be a valuable addition to our group.”

Glunt most recently worked at the United States Naval Academy, where he served as assistant director of equipment operations for the men’s basketball team in the 2012-13 season. In this role, his responsibilities included assisting the coaching staff in day-to-day-operations, supervising the student managerial staff, serving as the team liaison for Nike in equipment-related matters, as well as practice and game day setup. In the 2011-12, he served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Lock Haven University women’s basketball team, where he assisted in all aspects of the program.

Glunt received a B.S. from Penn State University in 2011 in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management. As an undergraduate, he worked with the men’s basketball program for four years, which included jobs as head manager and head video manager.
