After serving the past year as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach, Marlon Tibbs has been promoted to Associate Head Coach of the Dickinson State University men’s basketball team, Head Coach Josh Vaughan announced Wednesday.

“Marlon is extremely deserving of this position,” head coach Josh Vaughan said. “Tibbs has been integral in the Blue Hawks rise to prominence last season. He has really developed a true passion for DSU, Dickinson, and the state of North Dakota. Our roster has his handprint all over it.”

Since arriving at Dickinson State University in time for the 2016-2017 season, Tibbs has assisted the Blue Hawks in winning a North Star conference regular season championship and reaching the NSAA postseason conference tournament championship.

Prior to his time at DSU, Tibbs spent seven years as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Dawson Community College in Glendive, Montana.
