Lake Region State College announces Jared Marshall has been named the college’s head Men’s Basketball Coach.
Marshall, a native of Greeley, Colo., has been assistant coach at both University of Mary and Lake Region State College. He earned a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Northern Colorado in 2010 and a master’s degree in Human Performance and Athletic Administration from the University of Mary in 2014.
Danny Mertens, athletic director for Lake Region State College, said Marshall will be a strong leader and role model for Royals Athletics.
“Jared Marshall has been a key member of the LRSC athletics family as an assistant coach and I’m excited about what he’ll bring to the men’s basketball program as its head coach,” Mertens said.
Mertens added that Marshall also has great experience with recruiting, game preparation, scouting, and more.
“Coach Marshall has proved his coaching and leadership skills as an assistant here at LRSC,” said Dr. Doug Darling, LRSC President. “We received a tremendous outpouring of support for him from community members, alumni, booster club members, and players.”
Marshall is excited for this new chapter in his coaching career at LRSC.
“It’s an honor and privilege to be the next men’s basketball coach at LRSC. I look forward to keeping the tradition of putting a team on the floor each season that the college and community can be proud of,” Marshall said.
