Head Men’s Basketball Coach David Richards has added Pat Martinelli to his coaching staff as an assistant. Before Chatham, Martinelli served as an assistant coach at Allegheny College for two years after an impressive four-year undergraduate student coaching position with the same team.
A native of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, Martinelli majored in managerial economics and minored in German before graduating from Allegheny College in 2017. During his time at Allegheny, he assisted in the athletic department with statistics, research, press box operations and game day management.
To Chatham, Martinelli brings a rich coaching background, including assisting players in earning collegiate all-conference honors and acting as the director of an elite scouting camp. In addition, Martinelli is experienced in recruiting, preparing scouting reports, conducting film analysis, and designing individualized workouts for players.
Martinelli will be a valuable addition to Richards’ coaching staff as the Cougars look to defend their PAC title in the 2019-20 season.
