Matt O’Hara has joined the University of Valley Forge men’s basketball staff. He spent the last three seasons as the Graduate Assistant for La Salle University’s Men’s basketball team, focusing on player development and analytics. He is set to graduate with his Master’s in Counseling in December. Previous to that, he was an assistant coach at his alma mater Conestoga High School for the 2013-2014 season.
“We feel incredibly fortunate to have Matt be a part of our staff and community”, says Coach Damazo. “In my mind, he is the total package as a coach: he is passionate about pointing people to Jesus and discipleship, he is an excellent teacher, and he is a winner. I am thrilled to work with him every day as we look to change the culture of the program.”
Matt graduated from Muhlenberg College in 2013 where he was a captain and 4 year starter of the basketball team. He led the Centennial Conference in assists his senior year, with the highest single season assist total in the past 19 seasons at Muhlenberg.
“I’m really excited to get the opportunity to coach this group of guys. Competing at a high level and winning games are a lot of fun but more than that, the privilege to help shape the next generation of men is an honor that Coach Damazo and I are humbled to take part in.”
