MEAC DIRT: UMES set to open

Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing)

I have heard from multiple sources that Jason Crafton is no longer the head men’s basketball coach at Maryland Eastern Shore. It sounds like he informed his team of his departure in a meeting yesterday.

Crafton has spent the past four seasons as the head coach at UMES, where he went 43-76 (.361), including a 9-20 (4-10 MEAC) record this past season. His best season came in 2022-23, when he led the Hawks to am 18-13 (9-5 MEAC) mark. Prior to his time at UMES, Crafton worked as an assistant for the Philadelphia 76ers’ G-League affiliate Delaware Blue Coats, and also spent time as the head coach at D2 Nyack College (2012-18).

More on this move once it becomes official.
