Adam Blake Named Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at University of North Georgia

University of North Georgia head men’s basketball coach Dan Evans has announced the hiring of Adam Blake as the program’s new assistant coach. Blake comes to UNG following a three-year stint as an assistant at Concord (W.V.).

Prior his assignment at Concord, Blake was an assistant at Randolph-Macon, a Division III school near Richmond, Virginia.

“We are excited to have Adam join our staff. His energy, enthusiasm and tireless work ethic will be great additions to Nighthawk Basketball,” stated Evans. “His ability to connect with prospective student-athletes then coach and teach them at a high level upon their arrival will help our program grow.”

Originally from Kingston, Ohio, Blake played collegiately at Capital, a Division III school in Columbus, Ohio, where he was a point guard for the Crusaders. As a sophomore, Blake was on a Capital team that went 19-7 overall and 16-2 overall as it won the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title. In total, the Crusaders won two regular season conference titles and one tournament championship while Blake was on the roster from 2011-2015.

At Logan Elm High School in Circleville, Ohio, Blake was a standout point guard setting the school record for assists in a single season as well as a career. Blake was a part of 64 wins in high school and was named the 2010 district player of the year.

“North Georgia Basketball will always be about our student-athletes’ development on and off the court. Adam’s demonstrated his ability to do that at the Division II level, and he embodies the qualities we want throughout our program: high character, desire to grow, and committed to the North Georgia campus and community.”
