Georgia Highlands College Director of Athletics Dr. Nicole Levering announced today that Jonathan Merritt has stepped down as head men’s basketball coach.

“I’d like to thank Coach Merritt for his 6 years of dedication in guiding our Chargers basketball program,” Levering said.

Merritt led the Chargers to the GCAA and Region XVII titles in 2024.

A national search will begin immediately for GHC’s new men’s basketball coach.
