Michigan AD Warde Manuel announced that coach Dusty May has agreed to an extension and will lead the Wolverines “for many years to come,” drawing a standing ovation during the championship celebration at Crisler Center.
May, 49, just guided the Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball to a 37-3 season and its first national title since 1989, completing a remarkable turnaround from an 8-24 campaign before his arrival. He now owns a 190-82 career record, including a Final Four run at Florida Atlantic Owls men’s basketball, and has gone 64-13 in two seasons at Michigan.
