Cronin, who enters his 10th season at Cincinnati this winter, was named the 2014 American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year while guiding the Bearcats to the regular-season conference championship. The Bearcats have appeared in each of the last five NCAA tournaments — including a trip to the 2012 Sweet 16 — while compiling a 124-49 overall mark since the start of the 2010-11 campaign. A trademark under Cronin, UC’s stingy defense has ranked among the nation’s top 10 in scoring defense in three of the past four seasons and listed in the top 20 in field-goal shooting percentage defense each of the last three years.
