I can confirm that there are four finalists for the job at Midland College. They are:
Bubba Jennings – Former assistant coach Texas Tech. Worked for both Bob and Pat Knight at TTU. Won two state championships at Artesia High School (NM).
Chris Tifft – New Mexico JC head coach. Has been at NMJC for the past two seasons. Has also been the head coach at Lamar (CO) College and Dodge City (KS).
William Lewit – University of New Orleans associate coach. Has been at UNO since 2009. Before that, he spent 14 seasons at Cecil College (MD). He led the Seahawks to six Maryland JUCO regular season championships, five state tournament championships and six Region XX titles.
Chris Craig – Northern Colorado assistant coach. Spent he spent six seasons as the head coach at the College of Eastern Utah before joining the UNC staff. Played at UTEP for Billy Gillispie.
According to a source within the athletic department, these four were chosen from an applicant pool of 46. Whoever is chosen will have some big shoes to fill. Former head coach Ross Hodge (who departed for Southern Miss), went 63-7 in his two seasons at MC.
