Mike DeCarolis Tabbed as Head Coach at Penn State Lehigh Valley

The Penn State Lehigh Valley Athletics Department is please to announce the hiring of new Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Mike DeCarolis.  DeCarolis is entering his first year at Penn State Lehigh Valley bringing 13 years of coaching experience at various levels with him.

Prior to Penn State Lehigh Valley, Mike spent the last nine seasons as Junior Varsity Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Head Coach at Pennridge High School.  As the JV Head Coach he accumulated over 100 wins and had seasons of 15 wins or more four times. He also helped the Varsity program have the best three seasons in school history. These records include most wins in a season (25), three conference titles (none before arrival), three appearances in the district playoffs (6 wins), an appearance in the state playoffs (won first state playoff game in school history), two 1,000 point scorers, and two league MVP’s.

Coach DeCarolis started his high school coaching career at his high school alma mater, Hatboro-Horsham. He spent two seasons as JV Head Coach/Varsity Assistant where his first year he helped guide his team to the District Playoffs.

For the past 13 years, DeCarolis and his father have coached the 12/13U and 17U AAU boys travel team programs for Pennridge; HHOOPS and MOJO.

Mike graduated from Temple University with a degree in Sport and Recreation Management and currently works at UPS in Management.
