Oregon Tech’s Danny Miles became just the second men’s basketball coach at a four-year level to reach 1,000 career victories when his Hustlin’ Owls ran past Corban University, 71-51.
The win gives Miles a 1,000-409 overall mark in his 43rd season, all at Oregon Tech. Miles trails only Harry Statham of NCAA DII McKendree University (Illinois). Statham, currently in his 48th season at McKendree has 1,076 to date.
After the contest Miles was presented the game ball by Oregon Tech President Chris Maples and Corban President Sheldon Nord, while “1,000 Win” T-shirts were distributed to player’s and staff. There will be a pregame celebration for Miles prior to Friday’s 7:30 p.m. game versus The Evergreen State College at Danny Miles Court.
