I have heard that there are four finalists for the open job at Minnesota-Crookston. It sounds like three of the four have interviewed on campus over the past few days, with the final one to interview later this week. Thanks to a very good source here, and confirmed last night by a GREAT source – here are what both guys have told me the final four looks like:
• Jeff Kaminsky – Head coach Valley City State. Has been the head coach at VCSU for the past nine seasons. Has also been the head coach at Wisconsin Superior and Mid State Tech. Has 418 wins in 25 years as a head coach.
• Daniel Weisse – Assistant coach Minnesota State Moorhead. Has been at MSUM for the past three seasons. Has also worked at North Dakota State and Middle Tennessee State. Played at Wisconsin-Milwaukee – two years for Bo Ryan and two years for Bruce Pearl.
• Chad Welk – Assistant coach Southwest Minnesota State. Just wrapped up his first season at SMSU. Was an assistant for nine seasons at Concordia-St. Paul before that. **NOTE: sources are telling me that he may have dropped out to accept an assistant spot at St. Cloud State**
• Kevin Williamson – Assistant coach Minnesota Duluth. Has worked for head coach Matt Bowen for the past four seasons, the first two at Bemidji State, the last two at UMD. Has also been an assistant at Glendale CC (AZ), and spent one season as a HS head coach in Arizona.
