Missouri State head coach Paul Lusk has received a vote of confidence from Athletic Director Kyle Moats.
Yesterday, Moats posted a statement over three tweets on Twitter that read: “The future of #MSUBears basketball is very bright. Along with a solid nucleus back with 4 conference award winners, our recruiting class is solid. Coach Lusk recruits good citizens who graduate & represent MSU with class. We strongly believe that will also translate on the floor next year. Our goals continue to be contending for the MVC title and making the NCAA Tournament & we will work tirelessly to get there.”
Lusk had been feeling some heat recently. His Bears just wrapped up a 13-19 (8-10 MVC) season – their second straight losing season after finishing 11-20 in 2014-15. Since being named head coach at Missouri State back in 2011, Lusk had compiled a 71-90 record with his best season coming in 2013-14 where his team went 20-13.
