Molinari promoted to Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Coe College

Coe College and head men’s basketball coach Bryan Martin announce the promotion of Paxton Molinari from assistant coach to associate head coach of the men’s basketball program.

Molinari completed his fourth year on Martin’s staff in 2018-19 and has served as the recruiting coordinator, coached the Kohawk guards, and also coordinated the Kohawk defense this past season.

“I would like to thank Coach Martin for the incredible opportunity he gave me four years ago to join his staff here at Coe and it is an honor to be named associate head coach,” said Molinari. “I am excited to continue working with the great young men we have in our program and the new recruits we have coming to Coe.”

The Kohawks finished 14-12 last season and had three players earn All-American Rivers Conference honors in Nolan Timp (Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert Catholic) (First Team), Adam McDermott (Robins, IA/Xavier Catholic) (Second Team), and Calvin Winker (Marion, Iowa/Xavier) (Honorable Mention). Six players earned Academic All-Conference selections as well (Jake Eilers (Swisher, Iowa/Cedar Rapids Prairie), Hunter Grenier (Bettendorf, Iowa/Assumption), Tommy Hook (Mount Vernon, Iowa/Mount Vernon), Zach Schlabaugh (Williamsburg, Iowa/Williamsburg), Josh Schmitt (Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert Catholic), Winker).

“Paxton has been a very loyal assistant and is a great ambassador for both our basketball program and for Coe College,” said Martin. “He has developed great relationships with our players and staff and is an excellent recruiter. I believe he is a rising star in the coaching profession and I’m very excited about promoting him to this new role.”
