Busy weekend…Here are a few things that I have heard around Montana and Oregon State…
• Travis DeCuire is beginning to assemble his staff at Montana. I can confirm that current assistant Jonathan Metzger-Jones has been retained. He just wrapped up his third season at Montana. I have also heard from a great source that DeCuire will hire Chris Cobb as an assistant and Marlon Stewart as the DBO. Cobb has been at Chico State since 2011 and has developed a pretty good reputation as a strong recruiter in Northern and Central California. Stewart has been the video coordinator at Cal, where worked with DeCuire for the past four seasons.
• Former Montana head coach, and newly named Oregon State head coach Wayne Tinkle seems set on hiring Stephen Thompson to round out his staff. I have heard from multiple people that the former Cal State Los Angeles head coach could be officially introduced as early as this week. Also, it sounds like former Montana assistant Kurt Paulson will become the DBO at OSU. He joined Tinkle’s staff last season and had previously worked as a GA at Montana.
