Brannan Anthony has been named the new University of Montevallo men’s basketball assistant coach.
Anthony most recently served as an assistant coach at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Florida for the past two seasons, helping guide the Raiders to a 59-8 overall mark and two Panhandle Conference Championships and two FCSAA Region 8 titles.
Anthony recruited and coached 12 All-Conference players, six All-Region players and two NJCAA All-Americans during his tenure at Northwest Florida State, including the NABC National Player of the Year, and all 16 of the players he recruited moved on to four-year NCAA basketball programs.
Anthony assisted with off-campus recruiting efforts and was responsible for player development, with a primary focus on guard development.
Anthony was also in charge of the program’s strength and conditioning efforts, including the development of a customized program specific for basketball student-athletes. Anthony also organized and ran the Northwest Florida State basketball youth camps.
Prior to his position at Northwest Florida State, Anthony served as the video coordinator for the Kennesaw State University basketball program during the 2016-17 season.
Anthony filmed games and edited tape and helped develop detailed scouting reports and player development videos for the coaching staff at Kennesaw State, which helped the program set the school record for most wins in a season as a NCAA Division I member.
Anthony earned his bachelor of science degree in integrative studies with a leadership and sport management focus from Kennesaw State University in 2016.
