Shorter University head men’s basketball coach Chad Warner announced the hiring of Mario Moore as a graduate assistant.
Moore is beginning his college coaching career at Shorter after finishing a stellar playing career for Kevin Stallings at Vanderbilt University from 2002 to 2006.
Upon graduating from Vanderbilt, Moore played professionally in Slovenia for two years before returning home to Nashville, Tenn., as a prep coach at Hunters Lane High School and AAU coach as well as a middle school teacher’s aid at Sunset Middle School.
As a player at Vanderbilt, Moore became a member of the 1,000-point club while also making enough triples to land in the top 10 for 3-pointers made in school history.
Mario was a second team All-SEC performer in 2006 and a part of Vanderbilt’s NCAA Sweet 16 team in 2003-04. Moore still holds the record for single-game makes from beyond the arc with nine.
