Now that Donnie Tyndall has departed for Southern Mississippi, here are some of the names that I’ve started hearing at Morehead State:
Kelly Wells – Head Coach University of Pikeville. He is a Morehead State alum who won the NAIA DI National Championship in 2010-11. He was also the NAIA DI National Coach of the year. Won a Kentucky State Championship as the head coach at Mason County HS in 2003.
Happy Osborne – Associate Head Coach Tennessee Tech. Another Morehead State alum. Had a ton of success as the head coach at Georgetown College (KY). During his tenure at Georgetown, he went 456-84 and won the National Championship in 1998. He served as a student assistant at Morehead St.

Also spent four seasons as the head coach at St. Catharine College (Ky.) where he won 94 games. Will head to Southern Miss with Tyndall if he doesn’t get the job.
Darrin Horn – Former Head Coach South Carolina. He is a Kentucky native who also spent five seasons as the head coach at Western Kentucky before departing for South Carolina. Went 111–48 during his stay at WKU. Was an assistant at Morehead State from 1997-1999.
