Framingham State University Athletic Director Tom Kelley is pleased to announce the hiring of Peter Mugar as the Rams head men’s basketball coach.

He helped guide the Vikings to the 2013-14 MASCAC Regular Season Title, the top seed in the Conference Tournament, and a 17-9 overall mark which included a 9-3 record in the MASCAC. Mugar formulated and implemented the Vikings defensive philosophy as well as assisting with in game management. Mugar managed the scouting of the Vikings opponents as well as assisting with the recruitment of potential student-athletes.
Prior to his time at Salem State, Mugar spent five seasons as the associate head coach at Clark University in Worcester. While at Clark, Mugar implemented the Cougars defensive philosophy and the team saw their points per game allowed in conference contests drop by over ten points. Mugar helped guide the Cougars to the 2010 NEWMAC Tournament Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship where they advanced to the second round.
