Second-year head men’s basketball coach Bobby Hurley has announced the hiring of Tyler Murray as Director of Basketball Operations. The post became available when Ben Wood was promoted to assistant coach.

Murray, a native of Toronto, Ontario, played his collegiate basketball at Wagner College for Hurley and his brother Dan Hurley, graduating in 2012. Murray scored 1,216 points in his college career and he was one of the top three-point shooters in Wagner College history. He is first in school history in 3pt FG percentage at .438 and sixth in three pointers made with 189. His .490 three-point field goal percentage in 2011-12, led the NEC. He was a first-team All-NEC selection as a junior and a second-team All-NEC selection during his senior year.

"We are excited to welcome Tyler to our coaching family," said Hurley. "He was a pleasure to coach at Wagner and I saw first-hand his great basketball IQ as well as his leadership qualities. Both of those attributes will translate very well in his new role on our staff."

Murray is a 2012 graduate of Wagner College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management.
