NAIA DIRT: Former D1 assistant set to be named head coach at Wilberforce

Following-up on something I mentioned earlier this morning (Daily Dirt – 7/29)…

Wilberforce University (OH) will name Mark Mitchell as their new head men’s basketball coach. He will replace Kevin Waters who had been the head coach at WU for the past three seasons.

Mitchell spent five seasons as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Ohio State (2013-18). Before joining the Buckeye’s staff, he spent 11 years as the boys varsity head coach at Taft High School in Cincinnati, where he amassed a record of 221-50 (.815). He is the father of Indiana Fever (WNBA) guard Kelsey Mitchell.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
