I have heard through multiple sources that NAIA Roosevelt University (IL) intends to hire UIC assistant Dee Brown as their new head coach.

Brown, a former standout at Illinois and 2005 Sporting News National Player of the Year, has been on the UIC staff since 2017. Following a long career playing professionally, Brown got his start in coaching in 2015 at his alma mater as the Director of MBB Player Development and Alumni Relations under former head coach John Groce.

Brown also played his high school basketball in Illinois at Proviso East, and was named Mr. Basketball in the state and a McDonald’s All-American in 2002.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
