NAIA DIRT: Talladega set to hire D1 assistant as new Head Coach

I can confirm that NAIA Talladega College will hire Dannton Jackson as their new head men’s basketball coach.

Jackson spent last season as an assistant at Albany, and was an the associate head coach at UAB for four seasons before that. The veteran coach had a lot of success at the NAIA level before becoming a D1 assistant. In 13-seasons as the head coach at Xavier University New Orleans, he compiled a 294-130 record and captured five Gulf Coast Athletic Conference regular season championships.

Jackson will replace Chris Wright, who became the head coach at NAIA Langston University back in April after leading Talladega to a 32-6 record and an appearance in the NAIA National Championship game this past season.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
