Fisk University Athletic Director Valencia Jordan announced a new era for Fisk men’s basketball when she named former Tennesssee State University basketball player Jeremiah Crutcher as the head coach. Crutcher, who prepped at Hunters Lane High School in Nashville, coached Whites Creek High School, also in Nashville, to the TSSAA Class AA Final Four last season. Thehigh-energy Crutcher will bring organization and disicipline to the Bulldog program.
“I am excited to get this hire completed,” said Jordan. “Coach “Crutch” has strong ties in the community and his AAU background has given him inroads across the country. There was a lot of interest in this position based on the quality of the candidates. Bulldog fans will find out real soon why this was agreat choice.”
Crutcher started his high school coaching career at Battle Ground Academy in 2013. He went on to coach at his alma mater Hunters Lane, then he had stops at Pearl-Cohn, John Early Middle School and Lebanon High School before finishing up at Whites Creek. Crutcher will officially take over on July 16. A press conference will take place on campus on July 22.
