NAIA NEWS: Fundalewicz steps away from Basketball position; assumes administrative role Embry-Riddle (AZ)

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) of Athletics, Phil Hess, has announced that Eric Fundalewicz will be the transition from his role as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, and assume the position of Assistant Athletic Director

“Eric works well with everyone in our department and is a respected member of both our campus and Prescott communities”, Hess said.  “He did a fine job starting our men’s basketball program and I know he will do just as fine a job in his new role.”

Fundalewicz started the men’s basketball program at ERAU and just completed his 8th season as the Eagles head coach.  Under his guidance the men’s basketball program produced 14 All-Cal Pac honorees, with Nick Johnson named the Cal Pac Freshman of the Year in 2017, Cal Pac Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 and was also a two-time NAIA All-American (18-19 and 19-20). The Eagles academic prowess has also been recognized with the team earning 14 NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards, two CoSIDA Academic All-District awards, the NAIA Scholar Athletic Team award all eight seasons of the team’s existence, and the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) Team Academic Excellence award eight times as well. Fundalewicz saw his team hold the highest GPA in all divisions of college basketball once and hold the second highest GPA in the NAIA twice.  The NABC has also recognized 33 Eagles with their NABC Honors Court award which recognizes individual academic achievements.  Fundalewicz earned his bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University in physical education and a master’s degree in Leadership from Embry-Riddle.
