North Carolina Wesleyan has named Cornelius Snow IV as the newest member of its Men’s Basketball staff. Snow was a member of two USA South Regular Season Championship Teams and one USA South Tournament Champion during his playing career at Wesleyan. The 2013 graduate was also a USA South All-Academic performer in 2011 and 2012, as well as a team captain as a senior.
“I am thrilled to have Cornelius return to Wesleyan. We have been fortunate to have numerous outstanding assistant coaches and he has certainly prepared himself to be the next in that line. People throughout North Carolina, and beyond, he is known as a first-rate recruiter. What people may not realize is how good he is in all the other phases of coaching. Our team will really benefit, in a number of ways,” stated Head Coach John Thompson.
Snow returns to his alma mater after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Averett University and the last five years at the University of Mount Olive. Between those two stops he has coached numerous all-conference players, a Rookie of the Year, a Player of the Year, a Defensive Player of the Year, in addition to winning two conference titles. During his time at Averett Snow earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
“My family and I are excited to be back home. I am extremely grateful to Coach Thompson for allowing me to come back on the sidelines at my alma mater,” said Coach Snow. “During my time away I’ve gained valuable experience at my previous institutions, that I can give back to this program, not only on the basketball floor, but in the classroom and in life, as well.”
Snow replaces Assistant Coach Justin Griffith, another Wesleyan Basketball Alum, who has accepted a similar position in South Carolina.
