NDSU Men’s Basketball Hires Wilker as Director of Operations

North Dakota State University head men’s basketball coach David Richman announced the hiring of Spencer Wilker as the program’s Director of Basketball Operations on Monday, June 3.

Wilker is a 2019 graduate of North Dakota State with a degree in strategic communication. He served as the head manager for Bison men’s basketball from 2015-18 before filling the role of student director of basketball operations for the 2018-19 season.

“We are thrilled to officially welcome Coach Wilker to our staff and Bison Family,” Richman said. “Spencer’s passion and dedication towards NDSU Basketball, along with his hard-working approach, have made him an extremely valuable asset to our program the last four years, and there’s no doubt that will continue on into the future.”

Wilker has extensive experience in organizing NDSU’s basketball camps, coordinating team travel and meals, managing the program’s budget, and directing the team’s pool of student managers, among other duties.

“I am excited to continue to be a part of Coach Richman’s staff and the entire North Dakota State athletics department,” Wilker said. “I am very thankful for the opportunity from Coach Richman to continue to be a part of Bison basketball. Over the last four years, I have developed great relationships with our staff and student-athletes. I hope to continue to serve them and their championship mindset.”

Wilker is a native of Kenosha, Wis.
