Nevada’s Alford out for next three games

Nevada head coach Steve Alford has tested positive for COVID-19, and released the following statement earlier today:

“This morning I tested positive for COVID-19. For the next 10 days, I will be isolating, while supporting my team and continuing to participate remotely as they prepare for and play these next three games.”

A second undisclosed Nevada staffer is also out for tonight’s game at Pepperdine.

Assistant Coach Kory Barnett will serve as the acting head coach tonight, and for upcoming away games at North Texas (12/4) and at UT Arlington (12/7).

Nevada is currently 3-4 on the season, and riding a two-game winning streak. They blew out Washington this past Wednesday 81-62.
