Some dirt from the great Northeast (I’ve heard some places in New England already have a few feet of snow)….

Former Boston College standout Billy Curley has joined that staff at Emerson College. Curley played for current Emerson head coach Jim O’Brien at BC. He was the 22nd pick in the 1994 NBA draft, and went on to play for five teams from 1994-2001. Most recently, Curley was the head coach at Thayer Academy (MA).

I can confirm that former Salem State assistant Nkrumah Jones has taken over at Bunker Hill CC. He had spent the past four seasons on the Salem State staff and is a Bunker Hill alum. I’ve heard that he will hire LeRoy Gibson as his assistant coach. Gibson is a local guy who works with at-risk Boston City kids.

Speaking of former Salem State assistants….Dorian Bryant, who was on the staff last year at Salem State has moved on to Babson College. He is a 2000 graduate of Salem State and was a member of the 2000 team that advanced to the DIII Final Four.
