University of New Mexico assistant basketball coach Jerome Robinson has announced that he is leaving the program. Robinson had been on Paul Weir’s staff for the past three seasons.
“Without getting into any details, its really a personal move.” Robinson told KRQE in Albuquerque. “You know, a personal move for my family and myself, you know it will give me an opportunity to spend more time with the kids. Its definitely a personal move, no real animosity towards anybody.”
Before joining the Lobo staff, Robinson spent three seasons as an assistant coach at St. Bonaventure, and also worked for three years at Eastern Michigan.
No word yet as to a possible successor on Weir’s staff.
