New Mexico Highlands basketball coach Craig Snow has announced Sean Pryor as the Associate Head Coach for the 2016-2017 season. Pryor comes to New Mexico Highlands after spending the past five season as an Assistant Coach at Division I Chicago State.

“I’m very excited to help a program that is on the rise. I think Coach Snow has done a great job and has improved his wins from five to 15 in just two seasons.” Pryor stated. “I’m looking forward to bring in my coaching experience from the division I and junior college level as well as my playing experience to help build this team to where we need to be, the elite level. I think Coach Snow is a great coach in his vision and philosophy in the game of basketball ball.”

Prior to joining the staff at Chicago State Pryor started his collegiate coaching career at his alma mater of Mineral Area Junior College.

After high school Pryor spent two seasons at Mineral Area, Pryor spent his final two years of amateur experience at Oregon State. Before trading in his basketball shoes for dress shoes Pryor played overseas in France and Puerto Rico.

Pryor joins a Cowboy team who tripled their wins from the 2014-2015 season to the 2015-2016 season. The Cowboys also made the RMAC Shootout for the first time in Coach Snow’s tenure and just the sixth time in the last 15 years.

When asked about bringing Pryor onto staff Snow said “I am very excited to get Sean in our program. He is very experienced and comes from Chicago State where he has been an assistant the past five years. Sean is very respected not only in Chicago but also in many different regions. I feel very fortunate to have him joining our team. His track record in academic support is outstanding and he will help make sure the guys stay on track to earn their degree.”

“I am genuinely impressed with Bob Clifford and what he did at Oregon State to change things around. I’m just excited to be a part of the growth at New Mexico Highlands this year and in the upcoming years.” Pryor mentioned.
