The New Mexico State men’s basketball program announced today that they have bolstered their coaching staff with the hire of Tim Daniels and the promotions of Preston Laird and Bryan Mondragon.
Daniels joins the program as Video Coordinator and is responsible for coordinating the video needs of the program, including video editing, scouting and film exchange.
“I’m really excited to have Tim on our staff,” NM State head coach Marvin Menzies said. “Throughout the interview process it became clear that he was the right person for the job. He’s a hard worker and will be a great asset to the program.”
Preston Laird, who previously served in a graduate assistant role for the past two seasons, has been promoted to the position of Special Assistant to the Head Coach.
He coordinates 6th Man Club events such as the annual Marvin Menzies’ 6th Man Open, Tip-Off Banquet and special projects.
"Preston is a valued component of our staff," Menzies said. "The University Community is a crucial part to the success of our program and Preston connects us directly with each of them. He sees the game as a coach but also has the vision to help us achieve our long term goals."
Bryan Mondragon, who previously served as a team manager has been elevated to a graduate assistant position. Mondragon assists with practice, pregame duties and administrative duties.
“Bryan is familiar with the program and he’s a tireless worker,” added Menzies. “He proved his worth to the program and he’s a great addition to the staff.”
