Tim Mein has been named assistant director of operations/video coordinator with the Virginia men’s basketball program. Mein’s appointment was announced Wednesday by UVa head coach Dave Leitao. He worked with the team as a manager, associate head manager and head manager for five years as an undergraduate and graduate student at Virginia.

The 2008 Paul Hewitt Georgia Tech Basketball Coaches Clinic will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008. The one day clinic for basketball coaches of all levels will include presentations by Coach Hewitt and the Georgia Tech coaching staff as well as a Georgia Tech practice.
Dixon to Receive Contract Extension
Pittsburgh Athletic Director Steve Pederson has scheduled an 11:00 news conference for tomorrow. Speculation is that he will announce a multi-year contract extension for Jamie Dixon. Dixon, who is currently under contract until 2012-2013, is 132-40 in five seasons at Pitt.

Boston University has promoted Will Seward from Director of Basketball Operations to Assistant Coach. He replaces Lamar Reddick who became the Director of Athletics and Boy’s Basketball Coach at Milton (MA) Academy. Thomas Joyce was hired to replace Seward as the DOB.
