UK Basketball Coaches Clinic 10/31- 11/1

The annual Kentucky Basketball Coaches Clinic has been set for Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at Rupp Arena, the UK men’s basketball program announced on Thursday. The clinic will begin with an evening session at 6:00 p.m., Oct. 31 and conclude on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 1 with the annual Blue – White game at Rupp Arena.

Coach Wright Completes Coaching Staff

Villanova head coach Jay Wright announced a series of promotions and one new hire today to complete his 2008-09 coaching staff. Virginia Hosts Coaches Clinic September 26-27

The Dave Leitao Coaching Clinic is scheduled for Sept. 26-27 at Virginia’s John Paul Jones Arena. Connecticut Hall of Fame head coach Jim Calhoun, George Washington head coach Karl Hobbs and UVa head coach Dave Leitao are all scheduled to lead sessions during the clinic.

Virginia adds DOB

Tim Mein has been named assistant director of operations/video coordinator with the Virginia men’s basketball program. Mein’s appointment was announced Wednesday by UVa head coach Dave Leitao. He worked with the team as a manager, associate head manager and head manager for five years as an undergraduate and graduate student at Virginia.

Paul Hewitt Georgia Tech Basketball Coaches Clinic 10/18

The 2008 Paul Hewitt Georgia Tech Basketball Coaches Clinic will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008. The one day clinic for basketball coaches of all levels will include presentations by Coach Hewitt and the Georgia Tech coaching staff as well as a Georgia Tech practice.

Dixon to Receive Contract Extension

Pittsburgh Athletic Director Steve Pederson has scheduled an 11:00 news conference for tomorrow. Speculation is that he will announce a multi-year contract extension for Jamie Dixon. Dixon, who is currently under contract until 2012-2013, is 132-40 in five seasons at Pitt.

Assistant Hired at High Point

Damon Stephenson has been hired as an assistant at High Point University. Stephenson comes to High Point after serving as the Director of US Operations for Basketball NSW/Horizons Sporting Events, he was also the Director of Australian Marketing and was also the head coach of the North Sydney U-18 D1 men’s team. Boston University Staff Changes

Boston University has promoted Will Seward from Director of Basketball Operations to Assistant Coach. He replaces Lamar Reddick who became the Director of Athletics and Boy’s Basketball Coach at Milton (MA) Academy. Thomas Joyce was hired to replace Seward as the DOB. Joyce was most recently as assistant at DII St. Anselm College (NH).
