I have heard that the search to replace J.P. Piper as the head basketball coach at Nicholls State is wrapping up.  According to great sources, Clemson assistant coach Richie Riley is the leader here.  I have also heard that the salary is low, and that the school is working to get it up a bit to land Riley.  It also sounds like the other two finalists are Louisiana Lafayette assistant Kevin Johnson, and LSU Alexandria head coach Larry Cordaro.  I can confirm that all three of these guys were on campus last week. Kentucky Wesleyan head coach Happy Osbourne is also rumored to be in the mix, but I have heard that he is not in the top 3.  Nicholls State wants this one wrapped up early next week.  More as I hear it.
