Northeast Mississippi Community College Hires Assistant

Northeast Mississippi Community College has announced the hiring of Kyle Morris as men’s assistant basketball coach.

Morris has spent the last six seasons on North Alabama’s staff, helping lead that program to back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths and last year’s Gulf South Conference Tournament championship.

Morris and Northeast men’s head basketball coach Cord Wright go back several years.

"He’s a really good friend of mine, but more importantly than any of that, he’s a really good coach, and he knows what he’s doing," Wright said. "Any time you can hire somebody underneath you to work with you, it’s a tremendous asset."

"I’ve known Coach Wright for the past six years," Morris said. "He kind of helped me get in the business, and kind of jumpstarted my career, and I’m looking forward to the challenge."
