Joey Nuttall has been hired as a part-time assistant coach at WPI.
Nuttall joins WPI after serving as an assistant coach for Shepherd Hill Regional High School in Dudley, MA. Additionally, he has been the Director for the Central Mass Swarm AAU program for two years, while serving as a trainer for local high school and collegiate players.
Nuttall played four years of varsity basketball at Wachusett Regional High School, and was league MVP and a multiple time league all-star. He went on to play three years of college basketball with a MASCAC title and NCAA automatic bid at Worcester State University in 2023. Nuttall graduated from WSU with a degree in Business.
Head Coach Chris Bartley said “Joey is a rising coach with a good feel for the game and ability to evaluate prospects. Having known Joey since he was in high school, I think he is committed to coaching, works hard, and is trustworthy. We think he is an excellent fit for us.”
WPI has won three consecutive NEWMAC regular season championships, with a NEWMAC Tournament championship and NCAA Elite 8 appearance in 2022.
