Nyack Basketball Head Coach Jason Crafton announced today the additions of Isaiah Roberts and Thomas Tesar to his coaching staff. Roberts, who just completed his playing career at Nyack was named Assistant Coach while Tesar will assume the role of Director of Basketball Operations.
As an Assistant Coach, Roberts will be heavily involved with player development and recruiting. In his final season with the Warriors he averaged 9 points and 3 rebounds per game and was awarded the "Coaches Award" at the athletic banquet. Prior to Nyack, he played at NAVY where as a freshman he was named to the Patriot League All-Rookie team. As a sophomore he earned Team MVP Honors.
COACH CRAFTON: "I’m thrilled to add Isaiah to our coaching staff. We have great history from our time together at NAVY and when he transferred to play here at Nyack our relationship grew stronger. He has been very persistent about wanting to break into coaching and I’m excited to give him his first opportunity. He knows exactly what we are looking for in terms of recruiting and player development and will hit the ground running in this role."
Nyack’s new Director of Basketball Operations, Thomas Tesar will assist with the organization of all aspects of the program. Tommy hails from St Johns University where he served for four years as a student manager. In his last 2 seasons he earned the title of Head Manager. St John’s finished with a 20-13 record last season and appeared in the NIT.
COACH CRAFTON: "During the interview process Tommy really stood out as someone that was willing to out-work people and I liked that. He has a great feel for details and strong sense of urgency from his time working in the Big East and that was intriguing to me. He already has an idea of what we are striving to build here and I’m excited to have him on our staff in this role."
