University of Rio Grande head men’s basketball coach Ken French has announced the addition of Chris O’Bryan to the RedStorm coaching staff for the 2017-18 season.

O’Bryan, a native of Louisville, Ky., spent the past three seasons as a member of the men’s basketball staff at Eastern Kentucky University – two as a student manager and last season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Colonels.

The son of a high school/middle school basketball coach, O’Bryan is a graduate of Holy Cross High School where he played football, basketball and baseball. O’Bryan is also a graduate of EKU.

His previous coaching experience also includes head coaching stints at the sixth, seventh and ninth grade levels.

O’Bryan will be involved in all aspects of the RedStorm program, including its day-to-day operations.
